Snow Blizzard

You're probably as sick of hearing about snow as I am of seeing it.  I honestly thought we were done until a big snow storm blew through here yesterday.

I had to feel sorry for the birds who were battling strong winds and the cold just to get some food.

Thankfully I'd filled the feeders just the day before so there was plenty to go around.

At least the sun is out today and the snow has melted.  I'm desperate to see some color after all the monochromatic browns and greys of this oh so long winter.

  1. Wow, beautiful photos!! You must have a telephoto lens on your camera. Those birds are so fortunate to have you to look out for them. (I am so sick of snow and COLD too!)

    1. I have a telezoom lens that I use for my bird shots (70-300mm). It's one of my oldest lenses and a favorite.

  2. Well you certainly found some color in that bright red cardinal! And yes, we had a similar last-minute snow storm come through in Northeastern Ohio over the weekend - inches on the ground in the morning and gone by evening. Weird! And yes, I think we are all ready for some spring color.

    1. The red really stands out doesn't it. It probably explains why they are so nervous and spook at the slightest thing. When you're that color I guess you're like a beacon for predators.

  6. Wow, it just won't give up will it...and I'm so afraid that the monarchs will have nothing to lay their eggs on should they even make up this spring. Oy, the whole thing has me stressed out. But as always I love your bird friends!
