New Adventures In Clay

Last year I felt as though my creativity had stagnated so I thought trying a new medium might get the creative juices flowing again.  I decided to dip my toes into the world of clay and recently started a six week pottery class to learn some of the basics.  With two lessons under my belt I am still trying to figuring it all out but am having so much fun in the process.  There's something deliciously tactile about working with clay and I'm excited to see how my love of texture transfers into this new medium.

  1. You are so far from Basic I have ever seen .. you are already top-notch in ceramics.. this sculpture is just amazing.. once it's done into a sculpture it will be a marvel.

  2. Love that bird.

I have always wanted to work in clay but have only been able to use our natural clay here. Do you fire these or air dry?

  3. Wow! These are quite amazing - your style is self-evident in these pieces with an added depth from the third dimension. Can't wait to see where this new path takes you.

  5. I see that your love for texture is really evident in these pieces you've created. The ladder looks so realistic, and so do the small leaves just above it. I've always been one that enjoyed the subtle details in living things, and those pieces certainly remind me of that.

    1. Ladders had been working their way into my textured art paintings (feel like there is some symbolism in them on some level). I wanted to create one I could hang on my wall. Thanks for the lovely comment.

    Such awesome pieces already :)

It is one of my fav. mediums to work in but as I do not have access to a kiln right now I just use it to play around when I need to totally switch off, fun, fun, fun :) T.
